Bathroom remodel BEFORE

They're starting the demo today on our final bathroom remodel.  They are up there now hammering away and stripping wallpaper.  Will post some pics at the end of the day. Here are some: BEFORE pictures complete with plaid wallpaper! :)  Hubby had told me to take lots of pictures so here are lots!

Happy Labor Day!

Hubby and I went for the morning walk. I had him wake me at 6:30am as usual so that I’d have my full day off.    After that walk I walked Merlin (I always take one of the dogs for a walk after our walk, just not as far). All in all I walk a little over 2 ½ miles on the days I walk.  Anyway, after that I re-potted some aloe plants that were way overcrowded!   I had tons of aloe shoots, I like to call them babies, left over so I posted them for free on Facebook.  I split them into 4 plastic bags in which I put a few wet paper towels to try to keep them moist.  All 4 bags were picked up by 4:30PM. I'm glad I came up with the idea to give them away as I hated to just throw them out.  Here's the re potted aloe plants with lots of room to grow. 

After re-potting the plants I then washed up. I was smart not washing up (from the walk) until then as I was really sweaty. It was very humid this morning and it got up to 100 degrees this afternoon.  Glad I did the re-potting this morning as it at least wasn't hot yet. 

Hubby had picked up a bag of kitty litter for me so I could dump all of dad’s unused medicine in them.  I was told this was the safest way to get rid of them. So another thing on my list to do today was to dispose of them (finally).   So I opened each bottle, etc  and dumped them in the litter and mixed it up and bagged it and it is now in the trash.  There were over 20 bottles!  Those went in the recycling bin.

After the pill dump, I put some laundry in, and made a Chocolate Caramel Surprise (like caramel & nut brownie) that I sell (I’m a gourmet cupboard rep).  

Hubby really likes it and I haven’t had time to bake anything lately.  Then we went to Walmart to return a towel rack missing some parts, went to Home Depot and got one that did have the parts (but hubby needs some other anchor to get it to stay in the wall so it still isn’t up yet in the powder room). 

We did get  some hand towels yesterday and I washed them today and put them in the cute towel rack I painted for the powder room. We also put some (fake) ivy above the cupboard in there too. I think it looks pretty nice.

 The other day I also replaced the flowers (plastic) that were in the sheltie tissue holder that we always had in the bathroom.  I had some unopened flowers I got a few years ago and cut some of them down and put them in .

I took all my jewelry (had placed a big order right before I decided to become a Paparazzi rep) upstairs and got it in two jewelry armoires that I had gotten a few weeks ago. Hey I knew I’d be having a lot of jewelry!  After that I made some lemonade little tarts using the small graham cracker crusts for the pie crusts (also gourmet cupboard). I took a few to mom's this evening so she'd have a nice treat for dessert.

Got the sheets washed and bed made too.  I was happy to be done by last afternoon so I could relax the rest of my day off.  It was a productive yet relaxing as well sort of day!

Bring on Labor Day

I got done with work by 8PM.  Yippee!! The rest of the weekend is mine all mine...bbwwaahhh!! :)
Okay well at least tomorrow I can do what I want.  Hope to get alot accomplished including doing some singing on singsnap. I haven't sung in a while on there and I miss it. 

We got some hand towels at Walmart today for the powder room. I'm going to wash them tomorrow and get them placed in the rack. I'll take a picture when I'm done. We got a towel rack too but we're taking it back as it looks like something is missing from it.  

Oh I just remembered I am going to make the Chocolate Caramel Surprise tomorrow. It is one of my hubby's favorite treats.

Saturday night

This morning I had a hair appointment to get my hair colored my natural brown again, or as close to it as she could get.  It was getting highlighted so much it just looked muddled gray to me. So now it is brown.  Do I like it? Not really but I am going to get some blond chunks put back in and hopefully it will look great again. 

This is more like what I'd like. No red but visible chunks of blond.  Hopefully it will look more like this when she is done. 

Got some work done today but not as much as I had planned.  After the hair appointment I went over to mom's and got her mail, helped her with something and changed her sheets and took the other home to wash.  This evening we picked up dinner to take over and eat with her. She didn't really want much so not sure what her stomach problems are.  She seems to have a very sensitive stomach.  Who knows. 

Tomorrow will be catch up day to get work done because Monday is a holiday, no work that day.

Yesterday's Salad

I took a picture of the salad I made yesterday but forgot to post it!

It consisted of purple cabbage, avocado, onion, french sorrel (in my greenling box), crumbled up crackers (out of croutons) and a little side of potato salad.  With honey  mustard dressing drizzled on top. Yummy!

Remembered my camera

I have been meaning to remember to bring my camera on my morning walks. There are always so many deer around grazing on people's lawns or shrubs.  Today I remembered and some shots are grainy because it was still just turning to dawn and I didn't use a flash so as to not frighten them. Not sure why their eyes still showed as white because I did not have the flash on but anyway here are some nice photos from this morning.

Almost Friday

I don't know why I'm so excited about it being almost Friday since I'll likely work this weekend too or at least part of it.  Well not Monday. I will not work that day! There! That's exciting!

While over at my mom's watering her front yard with a hose and my thumb (on the end) trying to get the grass more green than brown, I noticed the next door neighbor had someone there that had pulled up in his truck.  Suddenly I saw the sprinklers next door coming on and off. He had a man there checking out his sprinklers!  I have been using a hose in the front yard as best I could because there are at least 2 maybe more broken sprinkler heads at moms. 

I took this as a sign from my Dad or God that I should ask this gentleman for his card.  He had no business card but his shirt did have a water irrigation systems logo on it.  :-)

He is coming back tomorrow to work on the neighbor's sprinklers and I've got him set to check out mom's as well. Woo hoo!!  I did tell her that I would see if he was still out there (before I asked him) and she said it was fine once I got her to realize what I was asking.  I don't know if she forgot the sprinklers are broken but she surely knows I'm out there with a hose every couple nights. Oh well anyway hopefully it will be fixed within a day or two.  I will be happy about that!!
