Surprise!....

I am posting and it not a Sunday!! Another surprise is that it is before 7 pm and I am done working for the night.  Lucky me!

Had an unexpected visit from our youngest this weekend who came home to go to a bridal show with her roomie who is getting married next year.  She is maid of honor.  I cannot said that without thinking of that movie Bridesmaids. : -)  It was cool how they had all the characters from that movie all on stage Sunday night at the Oscars but they didn't show them long enough!  My eyes went from left to right and I didn't get to see everyone before they panned away.

I guess I better put Hugo and The Artist on my must see list when they come out on DVD since they won so many Oscars.

I was a bit surprised at what Sandra Bullock chose to wear. She is so beautiful and she wore a dress that just was not very flattering. She looked okay just could have picked something better suited for her.  I'm not saying she had to wear something as sexy as J Lo, but could have been somewhere in between what she wore and J Lo.  :-)

I think this weekend coming up I will plant some green beans as they seem to grow fast and I am worried that if it gets hot too fast I won't get any like I didn't last year. This weekend after all it becomes March!  I am looking forward to being able to wear shorts again and sleep with the windows open so I can hear the birds chirping in the morning.  That is the best way to wake up in my opinion, to the sound of birds singing and chirping.

Off to relax with hubby.

Sunday post..

Thought I'd write a little...trying to stretch out my Sunday...as I like to do.  The weather has been fickle here. It warms up fairly nicely to close to 70 one day, then the next the high is in the 50's.  We at least have been getting a good amount of rain, when compared to the drought we've been in and lack of any rain for the most part for the last year or so. We have had rains I'd say at least 7 days or more this year already (I haven't researched it).  Last year I don't know if we had any rain in January or February, its been that bad.

But I am ready for Spring. Ready for it to be warm and stay warm.  Ready to give my balcony gardens another shot. Darn I haven't started any seeds yet but I'll probably just buy some veges that have already been started at a nursery or other store.  Looking forward to fresh fruits and vegetables from the local farmers market too. That starts in April.  I'm also ready for longer days of sun! :)  Hope the rest of February goes fast!

Well off to get some rest and gear up for another week of work, work work!

Sunday thoughts....

When I heard about the passing of Whitney Houston, it saddened me.  I remember how she tried to make a come back, what was it last year?  She just couldn't sing the way she used to.   The bar she set was very high though as her young voice was angelic yet she could belt it out effortlessly.  Everyone expected the same performance from her...but it wasn't there.    One of the first things I thought about after hearing of her passing was that I bet she is really belting it out in Heaven like she used to....such a beautiful voice..such a beautiful lady...think I'll have to watch Bodyguard sometime soon.

It was actually snowing a little bit ago.  I looked outside and did a double take. Snow in this part of Texas is rare. It has already changed to rain now so that was short lived.  I thought we were already into an early spring last week as it got up to the low 70s a few days and the smell of spring was in the air...oh well, what can I expect in mid February?.. soon enough it will be Spring.

I am working toward a change in my life..I just have to work less. Period. Plain and well not so simple... The worst part about working 12-15 hours a day like I have for over 6 months now is that I've become conditioned to work so much.  No one should have to work that many hours in a day. It does not allow me to enjoy anything else in life.  I haven't even volunteered at the animal shelter since May due to either working every weekend or having so little free time that I don't wish to volunteer anywhere.  I am going to commit myself to stop working at a certain time each evening whether done or not and keep my eyes open for other opportunities.

I want to have a balcony garden again this year (hopefully won't have as many 100 degree days as we did last year), and I want to walk even more than I do.  And then consider trying to volunteer again.  And my hubby promised me a while back (watch him not remember) that he'd be willing to take ballroom dancing classes with me.  ;-)
