Back to it!

Well back to the old routine today.  I actually don't mind as this weekend really felt like helter skelter. It was nice to see my family that was from out of town, but I didn't get enough time with them. Long story short, too many things scheduled in too little time but oh well. No surprise.  I hope they had a good time. It was great meeting my niece's husband. He seems very nice and they both look very happy together. They are buying their first house too which is exciting!

I got a nice walk in after dinner with hubby. We took Tika with us this time and she wasn't used to quite the long walk we take, so she kept stopping several times to sniff the ground (but I think it was just to catch her breath).

It is suppose to be nice this evening but tomorrow night another low of 41. Now I need to look forward to May I guess when it surely will be warm for good until fall! :)

Family Time

It is always nice when family is together, especially when it is years between when we get t see them. Got to meet my niece's husband for the first time too.  It was great to see them all even though the time was short. They are off to see some musician tonight and are leaving tomorrow.  Here are some pics of our get together at my folks for my brother's 60th birthday cake presentation.  We all sing in such great harmony.  My youngest is also headed back to college for the last few weeks of school.  Hard to believe she will be graduating next month!

Finally Friday

Yes, it is finally here and work day done!

So excited! My youngest is coming home tomorrow for the weekend! Woo hoo!  And very excited that my brother and his wife will be here from NY!  And my niece and her new husband whom I've never met will also be coming. My brother will be turning 60 this weekend. I KNOW!  That is so hard to believe. It sounds so OLD!!!...But I'm not that terribly far behind him either!

It is suppose to be a little warmer tomorrow.  These temperatures have been crazy!  It got down to 40 last night and tonight's low is 39. I just hope it doesn't get down below freezing after all the planting I've done! I still have to get the rest of the veges planted too.

I was hoping to catch GRIMM tonight for once, but they are still covering the Boston story.  I am elated that they caught this last suspect but the speculations, reports, etc., are a bit much. It is nearly 10 PM and they are still going on about it.  I just think the drama gets drawn out sometimes.  It was really nice though seeing that town cheering when it was all finally and they could breath a little easier.

Well off the computer for the night!

More Pictures

I was going to take some pictures of the vegetables I planted. But what was I going to do? PRETEND that I grew them from seed myself?  Who is going to be impressed that I took a 8 inch already started pepper plant out of its container and plunked it in a bucket! Wow! :))

So instead I noticed how beautiful the clouds were when I was on my way to help hubby get his treasures that he got from the annual animal shelter garage sale that we volunteer for. So instead when I got back I grabbed the camera to get some snapshots in of these beauties.  Normally my favorite sky is a bright blue, cloudless sky but this was very pretty I must say!

All in all an okay day except that I got mad that once again my hubby mixed some of my clothes with his in the wash. And once again he put some bras in the dryer that now will be tight so that I will be fidgeting with them constantly. I asked him or rather told him that I need him to stop doing that!  I don't want to sound 'like my mother' but there is a reason I want to do my own laundry. There are so many things that fit just right and I cannot risk them going in the dryer. And let's face it, although boobs may sag with age, they don't shrink with your clothes!

Okay here's the pics:
This first one I actually ran up to the balcony two nights ago because the sun was absolutely orange!  I stood on the bench (pretty risky as an afterthought) to try to get the sun. Almost lost my balance so won't be doing that stupid trick again!

This was facing the sun which is why it is more white I guess!

Hump Day~

Got my pap results yesterday via the mail. All good! :)  Not that I expected it to be anything else but it had been 3 years so I was keeping my fingers crossed. Didn't call the dermotologist yet as I keep forgetting until evening. I will do it though soon.

I got my husband to get me up early today when he saw the sun starting to rise so that I could plant some of the veges he got me.  Okay yes I cheated. I didn't start these from seeds. But I've been busy! I planted green, red and yellow peppers (he went a bit overboard on the pepper plants). Also planted canteloupe, honey dew and have two tomato plants. Did not get to the tomato plants yet. There were 3 wasp nests that had been started already and I wanted hubby to get rid of them before they got so big that I would be afraid to go near them as I took care of my balcony garden.  So those are taken care of, until new ones are made!

I have some zuchini seeds that I got last year so I want to plant some of these and see if they grow.  Those seeds germinate pretty quickly.  It really looked like rain this evening and thought it might start when we went for our after dinner walk. But it didn't. Hub said it is suppose to rain tomorrow, which is a good thing because I think our lawn can use some rain by now (not to mention our whole area is still dry).

Well turning in. I'm tired!

Balcony pics..

I'm hopping on here real quickly to post those photos of the back balcony.  It cleaned up very nicely and I got the flowers planted.  Didn't blog yesterday because right after work I headed to my sister's house. She and I headed down to Austin to see Chicago (the band).  It was a great concert and I was so hoarse by the end since I sang practically every song right along with them.  Four of the founding members are still in the group and they sounded great!  Okay here's the pics..
